Aston Villa Under-21s will travel to Blackpool in the Vertu Motors Round of 32.
Josep Gombau’s side booked their place in the knockout stages of the competition with group stage victories over Fleetwood Town and Bolton Wanderers (on penalties). They are the only ‘invited’ under-21 team to make it to this stage.
The Young Lions will now visit Bloomfield Road next month, with full fixture and ticketing details to be confirmed in due course.
The draw will remain regionalised at this stage, with Villa’s under-21s looking to book a place in the last 16 for the first time in their history.
The fixture will be the Villans’ first since the competition was renamed earlier this week.
