Zubimendi was fit for the Athletic Club derby as the La Real star ruled out

Royal Society star Martin Zubimendi was passed fit to face Athletic Club on the 24th of November.

Zubimendi has been released from Spain's UEFA Nations League squad after being withdrawn injured in their 2-1 win in Denmark.

Both club and country have opted for caution over the 25-year-old's rehabilitation as he returns to San Sebastian for tests.

Zubimendi was slowly introduced to training last week as the players returned from the final international window of 2024, and his progress has been positive.

The last call at the beginning of him will be closer to the beginning, but the playmaker of La Real is ready 100% to keep his place in his midfield.

However, despite the positivity about Zubimendi's fitness, Striker Orri Oskarsson was ruled out of the gamedue to a calf injury picked up on tour with Iceland.

The club will provide an update on his recovery in the coming weeks, but the 20-year-old is a major doubt for their UEFA Europa League clash with Ajax on November 28.
