Celta Vigo they've had an impressive start to Claudio Giraldez's first full season as manager of Os Celestes, and the bit of transfer business they did in the summer has also paid off. Especially with the case of Ilaix Moriba.
The former Barcelona talent was at his best against his former club on Saturday night, posing an intimidating presence in midfield, and reminding us how good he can be. Ilaix arrived on loan from RB Leipzig and has made six starts so far this season in 13 games, despite stiff competition in midfield.
It was revealed by Relief that Celta has a purchase option on Ilaix, ranging between 5-8 million euros, a fee that they will be open to pay next summer. The main obstacle to a move would be his salary, and Ilaix would have to make an “effort” to make the move happen.
Few thought there was even a chance he could be a Celta player next season when he arrived, but little by little that is changing. Celta noted that he is mostly focused on football, and the Guinean international has also won the affection of his teammates. After mixed spells on loan at Getafe and Valencia, hopefully Ilaix can show his talent in Galicia.
