“New Sergio Ramos” will sign a three-year contract in Sevilla with a release clause of 30 million euros
In recent weeks, Sevilla has been working on renewals of the contract of the first team. Right-back is a position that needs to be rubber-stamped due to the imminent retirement of Jesus Navas, who will hang up his boots at the end of 2024, and the club has taken a significant step to establish the long-term planning of the position.
Jose Angel Carmona has primarily occupied the right field position during the season, and is likely to remain as the starter going forward. His current deal ends next summer, but as for AS Diaryhas now agreed to extend his stay at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan until 2028.
Carmona, who has been compared to former Sevilla favorite Sergio Ramos, will also see his release clause rise from €20m to €30m. He almost joined Sporting CP during the summer, but now he aims to stay at Los Nervionenses for many years to come.
Carmona was one of of Seville the most consistent of this season, so tying him to a new contract is very good business. He is only 22 years old, so there is a lot of room for him to continue to improve.
