Aston Villa is pleased to announce Sil Swinkels has signed a new contract with the club.
The Dutch defender made his senior debut for Villa in our FA Cup third-round tie against Liverpool in 2021.
Having continued to impress for the club’s Under-21s, Swinkels put pen to paper on fresh terms in May 2024.
He duly started Villa’s Carabao Cup Round 3 tie at Wycombe Wanderers in late September, and has featured in Unai Emery’s matchday squads in the UEFA Champions League and Premier League this term.
“We are delighted to see Sil sign his new contract,” said Academy manager Mark Harrison.
“This is a great reflection of not only his development over the last six months but also the consistent high standards he sets himself.
“Sil is a very good role model for our younger Academy players and we were all delighted to see him make his first senior start.
“We look forward to seeing how he continues to develop.”
