Spain seem to have a never-ending conveyor belt of talent, and another to emerge in recent weeks has been Raul Asencio. Real Madrid's defensive crisis has meant that the 21-year-old has made appearances in the club's last three games, during which he has shown that he is more than capable.

Real Madrid officials are excited about Asencio, and that sentiment is echoed by Spain coach Luis de la Fuente (via AS Diary), who will have his eye on the young man for the future teams of the national team.

“We already had control, he has been international in many categories. But we need to give him time because we don't want to go too fast and anticipate the events. It is good news for his club, for the player and for Spanish football . Raul is a great footballer of the future. He is fantastic in very difficult games. He has the package to do it in Real Madrid.”

The central defender is a position that can be taken in the Spain squad, so if Asencio can manage to keep his place in the Real Madrid line-up in the coming months, he could have a chance to be involved during the next international break in March.
