The visiting team made their feelings known at the final whistle, with several boos for their team off the field of play.

Postecoglou, who came up to show his gratitude to the fans, was also booed.

He was seen approaching the visiting end, and the Australian expressed himself with his hands while reacting to the criticism.

Two butlers stood in his way and that of the crowd, and one of them extended his arm.

The footage shows Djed Spence putting his arm on Postecoglou's back as he turned towards the tunnel.

Asked about the fan reception and booing, he told talkSPORT: “Yes, rightly so.

“They're disappointed and I got some pretty direct feedback, which is always healthy, man.”

In his post-match press conference, he continued: “I didn't like what was said because I'm a human being but you have to put up with it.

“I've been here long enough to know that when things don't go well you have to understand frustration and disappointment. And they're rightly disappointed because we let a football game slip away. But that's okay. I'm okay with everything. that.

“All I can say is I'm really disappointed and I'm determined to get it right and I'll keep fighting until we get it.”

Bournemouth had the better chances that night, and Spurs were actually lucky to escape by conceding just one goal.

The Cherries managed 21 shots.

Referring to the number of chances his team had in the clash, Postecoglou said: “Yeah, well, that's because we were chasing the game.

“When you lose a goal, in the second half you are up and up and chasing the game.

“That will give them space and that's what they want and what they're good at.”

Bournemouth have jumped above Tottenham in the table after getting the three points.

The Cherries sit in ninth place, one point above the 10th-place Spurs.

And the north London team's 4-0 thrashing of reigning Premier League champions Manchester City last month now seems like a distant memory.

talkSPORT's resident Spurs fan Jamie O'Hara said on the Sports Bar: “It's hard work, you know, watching Spurs. One moment you're up, then you're down, then you're up, then you're down.

“And you know what? It's just painful. It's painful to watch. Painful. Because you know there's a great performance there because we've seen it.”

“Aston Villa. Man City. If you leave home, Bournemouth beats you.

“I know everyone loves Ange, you know, in terms of attacking football. I can't, I'm getting bored of watching this.”
