Just three days after suffering their first defeat since the appointment of Rubén Amorim as coach, manchester united have the opportunity to correct the errors of the weekday visit to Arsenal when they take on Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday 7 December at 5.30pm UK time on matchday 15 of the first division.
After trying out several new faces at the Emirates Stadium, Amorim could revert to a more familiar setup against Nuno Espirito Santo's men and one similar to the one that saw them achieve a 4-0 win over Everton last weekend.
That being said, here's a look at Man United's planned starting XI for the match.
goalkeeper – André Onana is expected to retain his place between the sticks. He has started every game for the team under new management and is likely to start again.
Defenders – Of the three-man defense that played against Arsenal, Matthijs de Ligt could be the only one to keep his place. Harry Maguire is likely to abandon, thus giving way to £52m summer signing Leny Yoro will make his first start of the campaign after making his debut in the midweek match. Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui could move into the advanced full-back role with Lisandro Martínez taking his place at the back.
Diallo and Rashford ready to start
Midfielders – Bruno Fernandes could partner Manuel Ugarte in central midfield roles. The duo will provide Amorim with the energy he seeks on and off the ball, having also played together in the Arsenal defeat.
Mazraoui could come in at left back in place of Tyrell Malacia, while Amad Diallo could replace Diogo Dalot on the right.
Forwards – Mark Rashford He is in good form and will look to build on his performance from the game against Everton as he is the favorite to start on the left flank. Alejandro Garnacho hasn't been too poor either, so the Argentina international could get a nod on the right wing.
Joshua Zirkzee could lead the line next Rasmus Hojlund failed to impress in the midweek match.
