“He is unique” – Jose Mourinho calls on former club Real Madrid to sign the Barcelona target

On Wednesday, Jose Mourinho will be reunited with the Spanish opposition as his Fenerbahce side prepare to take on Athletic Club in the Europa League. The former manager of Real Madrid will see a victory in that, and it promises to be a remarkable show as it takes place in Istanbul.

24 hours before the start, Mourinho spoke to the media (via The Mail). During the press conference, he spoke glowingly about Nico Williams, who is expected to start for Athletic against Fenerbahce.

“Nico is unique, he is wonderful. During the European Championship, people talked a lot about Lamine Yamal, who is obviously another wonderful kid, but personally I prefer Nico. He is a fantastic player. You cannot think that a Turkish club can sign him boy. I hope you end up at Real Madrid.”

Williams has been strongly linked with Barcelona in 2024, so it would be a time for the books if Real Madrid immediately went for it. However, that is unlikely to happen as they already have Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe on their books.
