Extraordinary Manchester City statistic emerges: Pep Guardiola's men are worse than FIFA's lowest-ranked nation

Manchester City are officially worse than San Marino, well, sort of.

As well as jeopardizing their hopes of progressing to the next round, it is a result that saw their register more than ten games reached a new low.

In the last ten games, Manchester City has only won once: 3-0 over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last week.

By comparison, even FIFA's lowest-ranked international team has won more in the same period.

that's because San Marino claimed two wins over Liechtenstein in their UEFA Nations League campaign, meaning they have won one more game in their last ten than City have.

What's worse for the Premier League champions is that in their last ten games they have also lost an incredible seven.

They have also conceded goals in nine of those games, but things get even worse.

City have conceded 21 goals since the beginning of November in all competitions.

That means, incredibly, they have conceded more goals than any team in Europe's top five leagues.

The 2-0 defeat to Juventus means City's hopes of progressing hang by a thread.

Two wins, two draws and two defeats in their six Champions League stage matches mean the 2023 Champions League winners have fallen to 22nd place in Europe's 36-team table.

They are just one point and three places away from falling out of the play-offs and being eliminated from the competition.

City now have two games to salvage their Champions League campaign.

Those matches will be played after Christmas with matches against Paris Saint Germain on January 22 before hosting Club Brugge the following week.

The horror of Ciudadanos has made Guardiola admit that he questions himself.

After the defeat in Turin, he said: “Of course I question myself, but I am stable in good times and bad.

“I try to find a way to do it. I'm incredibly honest. If we play well (I say), we play well and today I thought we played well.

“Our game will save us. We can do it. We have conceded few opportunities compared to the game we won at Nottingham Forest. We are following the right rhythm.

“We missed the last pass, we didn't get to the six-yard box (at the right time) or have the composure at the right time.

“But I love my team. That's life, it happens. Sometimes you have a bad period, but I'm going to persist until we get there.”
