Espanyol are not enjoying the greatest season so far, but some of their players have always caught the attention of interested parties. In addition to Javi Puado's suitors, right-back Omar El Hilali has also gathered scouts in the stands to watch him.
El HilaliThe 21-year-old made his starting spot at right-back last season during Espanyol's promotion push and has been their starter in La Liga, showing little sign of being bothered by his surroundings. According to AS DiaryItalian side Como, managed by Barcelona native Cesc Fabregas, recently sent scouts to watch El Hilali. Fabregas received positive reports about the solidity of Morocco and the prowess of winning the ball.
The Moroccan international has also been courted by the likes of Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City. El Hilali also has a €15 million release clause, making him relatively affordable for many top-tier clubs. With Los Pericos in dire financial straits, it might not be around much longer.
