Getafe haven't had too many redeeming features this season, but their only strength has been their defense. Despite finishing 15th with just three wins, Getafe have conceded just 13 goals in 16 games.
At the heart of that defense is Omar Alderete. The Paraguayan defender, who recently played a key role in beating Argentina, has been a bulwark at the back for Jose Bordalas. However, it might not be around much longer.
Alderete has a release clause of 16 million euros according to him AS Diaryand Tottenham Hotspur are interested in activating this clause. The 27-year-old is on the Spurs roster, and manager Ange Postecoglou has apparently requested his signature, having admired his strength and ability on the ball.
The Getafe man has been linked with Atletico Madrid in recent months, and certainly few attackers would envy the task of going against him. This season Alderete has played 15 times for Getafe in La Liga missing just one game.
