Barcelona are not optimistic about the chances of closing the January deal for the 17-year-old starlet
Due to their well-documented financial problems, Barcelona are not expected to be very active during the winter transfer window, which opens next month. The only possible entry at this stage would be Antonio Cordero, who has gained traction at the Catalan club in recent months.
Cordero has been a top performer for Malaga this season, and with his contract up at the end of the season, Barcelona have entertained the possibility of signing him in January for a fee in the region of €2 million. However, MD say that they are not confident of this happening.
If Cordero joins next month, it is likely that he will mainly be used at Barca Atletic, who play a level below Malaga. As such, it would not be too attractive for the 17-year-old to make the move.
It remains to be seen how the Cordero situation plays out. It would be a first signed for Barcelona given his potential, although acquiring his services will be easier said than done.
