The idea of a dazzling lifestyle in the public eye isn't always the reality, as one wife recently discovered after suffering a serious injury thanks to her husband's teammate.
“My nose is broken right now because I went to a game and they hit me on the nose.” Nottingham Forest Ash, the wife of goalkeeper Matt Turner, told talkSPORT.
“It happened during the warm-up. It was (Gonzalo) Montiel. “I don’t think it’s glitz and glamour.”
Ash will star in a new six-part Prime Video documentary titled 'Married to the Game' which shows the lives of the wives and girlfriends of Premier League footballers during the summer transfer window.
Married to the game offers viewers a first-hand look at the lives soccer couples lead with relationship stress and big life changes put under the microscope.
Talking about her move from the United States to London when her husband Matt signed Arsenal In 2022, Ash says the biggest step forward for MLS was the intensity that surrounds the Premier League.
“I don't think I was necessarily prepared for the intensity of the Premier League. “We come from the MLS and obviously that’s not as high a profile,” he added.

“This league develops in the blood of the people and it is a beautiful thing. The pressure on players and their families is something I don't think you can prepare for.
“You just have to go through the journey and experience it and that's where you really learn the ins and outs of it all.
“We moved to Arsenal when I was eight months pregnant and I had to move before Matt finished his season. I arrived in the country without a place to live.
“It's definitely different, but I wouldn't change it for the world because I feel like Matt and I have become closer because of this experience.
“It doesn't make things any easier not being able to have your family next door to call and we're grateful to have a very supportive family, but that was definitely difficult.”
Married to the Game launches on Prime Video on February 23 and follows the lives of Turner, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad MahrezJames Tarkowski and Jorginho.
