Roy Keane has criticized Kyle Walker for his “disgraceful” clash with Rasmus Hojlund.
The Manchester City defender was involved in a heated exchange with the Manchester United striker during the first half of the Manchester derby.
After being pushed to the ground by Walker, Hojlund confronted the England international as they faced each other.
The City captain then theatrically threw himself to the ground, causing a melee involving players from both teams.
Both Walker and Hojlund were booked for their antics, but Keane was unimpressed at half-time.
The Sky Sports pundit attacked Walker while criticizing the 34-year-old's reaction.
Asked if referee Anthony Taylor should have shown a red card, Keane replied: “Yes, to Walker.
Keane added: “You don't care about any of this, this is going to happen in a game, a bit of anger of course.
“Obviously it's been blocked, but Walker… of course it's a foul and a free kick and Hojlund is not happy and that's fine.
“But then it gets closer, how can Walker (come down)? You must be ashamed. You should be ashamed to fall like this.
“An experienced player, this is not contact. Look at this! “I don't know the guy and I'm embarrassed.”
After fellow pundit and former Manchester City defender Micah Richards insisted Walker is 'better' than he performed, an unconvinced Keane responded: “Is he? I'm not so sure.
Former Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer also criticized Walker's behaviour.
Appearing as an expert on Dutch television, De Boer said: “If Kyle Walker sees that clip again, he surely can't take himself seriously anymore! It makes me furious. This seems ridiculous to me!
“And he's even still lying on the ground! This is ruining our game of football, look how they treat each other in rugby, and then look at this.”
Keane's outburst followed a X-rated pre-match rant of the former Manchester United captain.
The former midfielder admitted the situation at Old Trafford is “not very good” as he swore live on television before kick-off.
Walker and Hojlund's meeting was one of the few highlights in a quiet first half at the Etihad Stadium.
In the first 45 minutes the hosts also took the lead thanks to Josko Gvardiol.
However, United failed to register a single shot on target in response to falling behind.
Gvardiol's header was his eighth league goal in 2024, more than any other Premier League defender.
