Real Madrid they look likely to avoid action in the January transfer market once again this winter, despite major injury problems in their backline. It led manager Carlo Ancelotti to start experimenting with his options.

After conceding three times at Rayo Vallecano this weekend, defenders Lucas Vazquez and Fran Garcia are back for criticism. Especially with the veteran, there have been doubts about whether Los Blancos can be successful this season with Vazquez as their only option, except for the occasional use of Fede Valverde.

Marco say that with the prospective arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold most likely for next summer, Ancelotti is planning to use the central defender Raul Asencio here. He experienced absinthe at right back in training and used it there for the last 10 minutes against Atalanta as well. The Italian coach appreciates his composure and could see minutes in that position against Sevilla in their final game of the year.

Ancelotti was reluctant to return to La Fabrica even in emergencies, and it was notable that Asencio was overlooked for Aurelien Tchouameni at center back almost immediately. Asencio appears to be ahead of other right-backs in the academy, such as Jesus Fortea and David Jimenez.
