Marcus Rashford could end up regretting his decision to speak out about his future at Manchester United, according to Danny Murphy.
The England striker made headlines on Tuesday night when he took the unusual decision of announcing that is ready to leave the club in a surprise interview.
The comments came after Rashford was left out of United's squad in their 2-1 win over city of manchester.
Since he made them, coach Rubén Amorim has redoubled his decision by leaving out the 27-year-old again against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.
In that interview, Rashford revealed that he is “ready for a new challenge and the next steps” and added: “If I know a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. “I’ve seen other players leave in the past and I don’t want to be that person.”
The unorthodox decision to make his United Putting the future in his hands so publicly has certainly divided opinion, but a man who's been there and done that isn't sure he's all that wise.

Former Liverpool regular Murphy went through a similar experience when he moved from Charlton to Tottenham, leaving his manager unhappy.
“When I was at Charlton, Curbs (Alan Curbishley) and I had some consequences, I was training with the kids and stuff,” he recalled.
“Then I moved to Tottenham, that was all done behind closed doors, but I spoke to my agent and we had conversations with the chairman, Curbs and Tottenham, all that.
“I said my article and I said it well, but I didn't tell it to any press.”
When discussing Rashford's decision to take a different path, Murphy admitted he was perplexed.
“I have been very supportive of Marcus and I do. I've always liked it. He is a super talent and I tried to understand him the best I could,” he began. “But I'm really struggling with this.
“What are you doing? Who are you helping because you're not helping yourself?”
“If he puts on the United shirt again and has half a bad game, they will say he is ready to jump. He doesn't want to be there and it shows in his work.
“He's just putting more pressure on himself. You probably want to play again because you want to keep putting yourself in the window and stay in shape. So that's a problem.
“He will put a lot of pressure on himself if he plays again. He has put the club in a difficult position because he says he wants to leave.
“Someone might want him, they'll try to get him cheap because they know he's desperate to leave.”
talkSPORT understands United are open to offers for the two-time FA Cup winner who has scored 138 goals in 426 games for the club.
One of those said to be interested in a move in January is Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.
