Arsenal send scouts in search of new striker target with Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres unreachable
Arsenal have reportedly explored Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui as an alternative transfer target to Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres.

Kai Havertz has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season and Gabriel Jesus has rediscovered his form with five goals in two games.
However, Arsenal are still interested in other attacking options, with Isaac and Gyokeres Two notable names were speculated to be on his radar.
Isak scored a hat-trick in Newcastle's 4-0 win at Ipswich Town on Saturday to take his goal tally for the campaign to 11.
At Sporting Lisbon, Gyokeres has been in sensational form, with the Swede scoring 27 goals in 26 appearances.
However, the sun reported last month that neither striker appears likely to sign for Arsenal.
Barcelona are said to have Isak as their number one target for the summer, and Gyokeres wants to reunite with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.
Therefore, it is possible that Arsenal will look for other options to reinforce their attack, with Atalanta Retegui emerges as a potential target.
Respected Italian outlet CalcioMercato reports that the Gunners sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old in action in November.

Retegui came through the academies of Argentine giants River Plate and Boca Juniors before playing for the latter's senior team.
After three loan spells away from Boca, he signed for Italian side Genoa in 2023 before moving to Atalanta during the summer.
Arsenal could make a smart signing by opting for Retegui, who is currently suffering from a thigh injury.
Earlier this month, manager Mikel Arteta hinted at January signings ahead of the second half of the season.
“The window gives us the opportunity to strengthen the team if we believe it is necessary and we feel we have the capacity to do so as well.
“We are working on it and we just have to evaluate the situation because it changes every week. At the moment it is not for the better, but I am sure that in a few weeks we will be in a better place.”
Arsenal remain third in the Premier League after their 5-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday night.
However, they are six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand after the postponed Merseyside derby against Everton.
