Filip Marschall kept a clean sheet for the second game running for loan club Crewe Alexandra on Friday evening.
The young goalkeeper recorded a shut-out, his ninth of the League Two campaign in 20 games, as the Alex were held to a goalless draw at home to Colchester United.
In League One, there were two assists for Louie Barry, who helped Stockport County secure a fourth home league win on the spin, triumphing 2-1 over Peterborough United.
The young forward’s drilled free-kick was glanced home by Odin Bailey on 11 minutes, before his teasing ball to the back post was converted by Isaac Olaofe 15 minutes from time to secure the points.
Saturday saw four more Villans in action across the EFL. Kaine Kesler-Hayden played 90 minutes for Preston North End who fell 2-1 at QPR in the Championship.
In League One, both Josh Feeney and Tommi O’Reilly started for Shrewsbury Town in a 2-2 draw at Wigan Athletic – Feeney completing 90 minutes and the latter being withdrawn 22 minutes from time.
And, in League Two, Rico Richards started and played 45 minutes as Port Vale were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Carlisle United. Samuel Iling-Jr and Álex Moreno were unused substitutes for Bologna and Nottingham Forest respectively.
On Sunday, Leander Dendoncker played 90 minutes for Anderlecht as they fell 2-0 away at Genk in the Belgian Pro League, while in Spain, Enzo Barrenechea started and played 78 minutes of Valencia’s 2-2 draw with Alavés.
James Wright, Fin Munroe and Yeimar Mosquera all again played 90 minutes for Real Unión in their 1-0 defeat to Cultural Leonesa, while Lewis Dobbin played the final nine minutes off the bench for West Bromwich Albion, in their 2-0 win over Bristol City.
