Since he does not have a clear path in the first team, Real Madrid decided to sell Nico Paz during the transfer window of the summer 2024. He went to Como in an agreement worth 6 million euros, although Los Blancos have retained a buyback clause, which they could use to return the 20-year-old midfielder to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid officials watched Paz over the course of the season, and were bound to be impressed. It is not clear if they plan to bring him back, but if not, they may lose their chance to do so.

As for La Gazzetta dello Sport (via AS Diary), several European clubs are interested in Paz, with Inter Milan being the most willing. The Nerazzurri are preparing to make a bid for Como at some point in 2025.

It became clear this season that Real Madrid they need a new midfielder, as they have largely struggled without the now retired Toni Kroos. Paz is not the same type of player, although it might be wise to re-sign him if his sparkling form continues for the rest of the campaign.
