It's been a tough first half of the season for Getafe, who go into the winter break in 17th position in the La Liga table. Jose Bordalas' side have struggled massively in the goalscoring department, and that's the primary reason they're so close to the relegation zone.
In 18 La Liga games so far, Getafe have scored 11 goals in a row (one fewer than Real Valladolid). The fact that Bordalas were unable to call up injured talisman Borja Mayoral made a big impact, and with no return date in sight for the ex-Real Madrid forward, a new signing was sought.
According to Onda Vasco (via ED), Getafe has already chosen its main target: Umar Sadiq. Talks are already underway with Real Sociedad over a loan deal for the rest of the season.
Sadiq has made just 11 appearances in all competitions for Royal Society this season, and it is clear that he is not counted by coach Imanol Alguacil. As such, Getafe have a great chance to take him for the rest of the campaign.
