Real Madrid return to Spain with a lead after a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig in Germany. Most of the emphasis was on Toni Kroos, who returned to his homeland amid speculation about whether he will return again in the summer to play for the national team. He was the protagonist on and off the field, but as usual, he handled everything with typical composure and a streak of dry wit.
Before the match, Kroos admitted that he was considering coming out of retirement for Germany, even saying he didn't know if he would extend his deal with Real Madrid. He also commented on the stick received from fans in Saudi Arabia during the Spanish Supercup last month.
It was Kroos who took care of the press duties from the players' side, and as he passed Carlo Ancelotti who was on his way to hold his press conference, he had the Italian for a moment with his mood.
