Manchester City star Phil Foden left Micah Richards stunned after revealing he pays ten times less than for a haircut.

The former Citizens defender stated last year that he disburses £200 per versionthree times a week for 40 weeks of a calendar year.

Incredibly, that equates to £24,000 a year and, judging by his impressed view of Foden's barnet, he may soon change barber.

Foden appeared in CBS Sports on Tuesday night after contributing a goal and assisting in City's 3-1 victory in Copenhagen in the Champions League round of 16.

Moving away from football chat, Richards questioned Foden about his fade, where he said: “Who's your hairdresser? Because your cut looks kind of fresh, I'm not going to lie.”

Quickly mocking the 2012 Premier League winner, the 31-cap England international joked: “I hear you pay a lot for your cut.”

His mockery is gone Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher in stitches, with presenter Kate Abdo putting pressure on the attacking midfielder in response to Richards' comment.

And none of the CBS panel members expected such a modest reveal, as Foden commented: “£20 from the local.”

Shouts of 'No you don't' echoed from Richards and Abdo, with Foden adding: “I swear! I fix it sometimes, but I've been going to the same hairdresser since I was eight.”

Richards then couldn't resist making a joke about Foden's eyebrows, commenting: “Did he slip when he got to your eyebrows?”

To which Foden, laughing, said: “Yes, and it's stayed there ever since!”

The City youth player has been back in top form this season, having directly contributed to 25 goals in all competitions.

Speaking about his form, he stated: “When you have a series of games, you find your form and start making connections with other players.

“I started playing in the pocket, but today I played wide and did a good job.

'I just feel alive (playing in the middle). I feel like I'm always involved in the game.

“I feel like you can get into the game too. You can receive the ball, make some decent passes and develop your confidence. In the open field you have to wait for the ball.”
