Mohamed Salah has reached a century of Premier League goals at Anfield, becoming only the eighth Premier League player to score 100 times at a home stadium.

No top-flight player has been involved in more goals than the Egyptian's seven on December 26.

He had been on the same level as Raheem Sterling and Heung-min Son, but now holds the absolute record.

And his latest goal on Boxing Day also saw him join an exclusive club that has found the back of the net on 100 occasions in the Premier League at Anfield.

The 32-year-old has become the eighth player to achieve this feat, joining Thierry Henry, Harry Kane, Sergio Agüero, Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole and Robbie Fowler.

Salah has needed only 142 games to reach this historic milestone, and he has done it in the fourth fastest time.

Shearer currently holds the record of having scored 100 home goals in 91 games.

Arsenal legend Henry is second after reaching a hundred in 113 games, and Agüero third after doing so in 125 games.

Salah has enjoyed an impressive season so far in what could be his last campaign as his contract expires next summer.

Only last weekend at Tottenham saw Salah create History of the first division by becoming the first player to reach double figures for goals and assists before Christmas.

He now has a whopping 19 goals and 15 assists in 25 games in all competitions this season.

The former Chelsea winger is just five goals away from equaling his tally of 39 goals from last season.

Salah came into Liverpool's clash with a below-par record against Leicester, against whom he failed to score on Boxing Day 2019.

In his nine previous league appearances for the Foxes, he had only scored once.

Although he had not scored in the four most recent games with the Midlands team.

But his goal on Boxing Day could be the most important against Ruud van Nistelrooy's men as it gave his team a crucial two-goal lead with Liverpool coming from behind.

It was Jordan Ayew who silenced Anfield after just six minutes after firing low into the bottom left corner following a quick Leicester counter-attack.

And it took a wonder goal from Cody Gakpo to get the hosts back on level terms – slotting into the top corner from outside the area in first-half added time.

Curtis Jones then put Liverpool ahead from close range just four minutes into the second half, before Salah secured victory in the closing stages.

The result means Liverpool have extended their lead to seven points at the top of the table, with Arne Slot's men taking advantage of Chelsea's defeat to Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

But Arsenal can reduce the gap to six points if they emerge victorious over Ipswich on Friday night.
