Aston Villa booked their place in the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup with a resounding 9-0 victory over Bristol Rovers at the Bescot Stadium this evening.

Gabi Nunes’ first hat-trick as a Villan and a first-half brace from Rachel Daly helped the team onto a dominating victory.

Paula Tomàs, Chasity Grant and Kirsty Hanson were also on target for the side as Villa kicked-off 2025 in style.

Jill Baijings netted Villa’s ninth and final goal of the encounter as she sealed her debut with a strike after fighting her way back from a lengthy injury lay off.

It took Daly only two minutes to find the back of the net as she got the scoring underway. The forward rose high inside the six-yard box to nod home a corner kick from Miri Taylor.

Nunes made it two only four minutes later as Ebony Salmon cut back a cross inside the box for the striker to stab home a first-time effort.

Daly put Villa firmly in control of the contest as she made it 3-0 on only the eighth minute, this time heading home a cross from Sarah Mayling.

Tomàs got off the mark as a Villan on the 23rd minute as a loose clearance fell to the full back inside the box who was able to coolly smash the ball into the far bottom corner.

Nunes made it 5-0 only three minutes later as she flicked the ball past the keeper with her back towards goal.

Daly had the ball in the back of the net three more times before the half-time whistle blew but the striker was denied any more goals as the offside flag was raised each time.

Villa picked up from where they left off after the restart as substitute Grant added a sixth seconds into the second half. Hanson carried the ball down the left and into the box before picking out the Netherlands international at the back post with a fierce cross.

Grant turned provider nine minutes later as this time her cross found Hanson and the forward made no mistake with a first-time finish from eight yards out.

Nunes sealed her hat-trick on the 65th minute as she made it an unforgettable night for the Brazilian as she calmly finished from close range to make it 8-0.
