Thiago Silva’s wife watches her son play for Chelsea U15s after apologising for appearing to call for Mauricio Pochettino to be sacked – while husband was dropped at Aston Villa
Thiago Silva‘s wife was fully behind Chelsea as she supported her son at a youth match on Wednesday evening – despite her recent comments causing a stir.
Belle Silva cheered on her eldest son Isago as his U15s team won a youth match, posting stories on Instagram saying ‘come on Chelsea’ and ‘we won’ with a blue heart emoji.
Understandably, it meant she missed the senior team’s 3-1 win at Aston Villa in the FA Cup – where Mauricio Pochettino dropped Thiago Silva.
After Chelsea’s 4-2 defeat by Wolves on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, Silva appeared to cal for Pochettino‘s head by posting on X: ‘It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.’
She has since apologised, blaming her ‘outburst’ on being ‘passionate’ and ‘saddened by defeats’.

‘I’m sorry that my personal outburst as a passionate Chelsea fan has caused such an impact. I’m passionate about the team, I thrive on victories and I’m saddened by defeats,’ she wrote on X.
‘We all want the same thing, a winning team, come on Chelsea!!’
Pochettino revealed at his press conference on Tuesday that Chelsea centre-back Silva spoke to him personally after Isabelle’s social media post in a bid to ensure there was no tension between the pair.
Pochettino refused to discuss the nature of their conversation, describing it as a ‘private’ matter that was handled before training.
‘He came today to talk with me,’ he said. ‘I am not going to talk in the way we were talking. The important thing is he came and wanted to talk with me.
‘He knows me after more than 10 years, who I am, we are a very strong coaching staff and the way we operate. Of course he came to talk. We talked. It was private. And that’s it.’
Asked why he dropped Silva for the match at Villa, Pochettino hit back with a spiky response.
‘Why the question?,’ he responded to ITV’s Gabriel Clarke. ‘I am professional and a coach and I always pick my players because of performance and balance.
‘I think I understand the question but I want to be calm because I need to be professional and I always make my decisions because of the professional side.’

Isabelle has often been vocal on social media, expressing her frustrations with the team
When questioned again on the topic, he spikily added: ‘My answer was clear, no?’
Silva had played the full 90 minutes against Wolves on Sunday and scored a late consolation, but he was dropped to the bench for the clash with Villa, as Pochettino picked Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi at centre-back instead.
He has played the full 90 minutes in most of Chelsea’s matches this season but it is not the first time he has dropped to the bench, as he did against Crystal Palace and Preston.
This is not the first time that Isabelle has left her husband in a potentially sticky situation.
Back in 2018 when the Brazilian defender was playing for PSG she called out manager Unai Emery, writing on Instagram: ‘Tactics, tactics, tactics?’ after her husband was dropped for a 3-1 Champions League defeat at Real Madrid.
Two years later, she hit out at Liverpool’s Andy Robertson after he shared a video of himself skinning Jorginho during a 2-0 win for the Reds in September 2020.
She responded on TikTok: ‘Chilwell is better than u dude you even lost to Southampton’. For good measure, more than 500,000 fans liked her comment.
But it is not just opponents that she has criticised, as she also slammed Timo Werner for his finishing after he failed to find the net in Chelsea’s 1-1 Champions League semi-final first leg draw with Real Madrid in 2021.
The Silvas have been in a relationship since 2004 and married since 2005 and Belle regularly atends games to support her husband
Isabelle has also not been afraid to criticise her husband’s opponents and team-mates
‘This is karma, guys. Every team I go there is a striker who keeps missing goals… this Werner, what is his name?’,’ she wrote on Instagram.
In a second video she added: ‘We need a goal, we need to win this match but my attackers don’t want to score, I don’t know why they don’t score.’
Isabelle has become even more vocal since Chelsea started slipping out of contention for major trophies in the last couple of years under American owner Todd Boehly.
She blasted Graham Potter’s decision-making last season when he left her husband on the bench for a 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Manchester City, as she posted: ‘I just think that going back or looking for solutions when you take a hasty and totally wrong attitude is not wrong #goblues.’
With Chelsea going on to finish the campaign down in 12th place, she expressed her frustration on social media afterwards.
‘Very difficult to see what I see on TV. At home the situation worsens because I don’t know how to help, what to say. Very sad @tsilva3 you aren’t alone,’ she wrote.
Having questioned multiple managers in the past, it appeared Isabelle was turning on Pochettino this weekend, but she has now insisted she is fully behind the team as they prepare to face Aston Villa in a fourth round FA Cup replay at Villa Park tonight.
