It looked likely that Barcelona would be forced to talk to Juventus for the centre-back Ronald AraujoBut the Director Sporting Deco seems to have turned the situation around after discussions with the Uruguayan defender.
According to MDAraujo went to talks with Deco on Tuesday night intending to leave Barcelona for Juventus in the January transfer window, after a year of settled contract talks. However, the Brazilian-Portuguese managed to persuade him that it would be better to stay in Barcelona.
Deco insisted that he should stay, and now it seems that Araujo is close to doing so. That U-turn could be accompanied by a new contract for the 25-year-old, something that could happen in the near future. Araujo's teammates and Hansi Flick were also key in trying to convince him not to go.
