Luis Suarez He will retire from football at Inter Miami in 2024.
The elder Barcelona star has opted to join MLS at the end of 2023 with a one-year contract in Florida.
Suarez turned 37 in the first week of his time in the United States and is already planning to call time on a superb career.
His arrival in Miami continues the meeting of Barcelona in the next club Lionel Messi's change last summer.
Suarez's deal contains a clause to extend it for another 12 months, but it is unlikely to be activated by him or Inter Miami.
Before joining Inter Miami, Suarez confirmed his physical struggles in the competition in the Brazilian top flight, and his path is now clear that this is his final campaign.
“Yes, I can't be more sincere and my family already knows it. The retirement date is not set, but Inter Miami is the last step”, as quotes carried by AS Diary.
“I am prepared for this last challenge, but it is also exhausting, I have to think about my quality of life afterwards.”
Suarez's remarks come as no surprise, given the physical football he plays on his body, with the new MLS season due to start next week.
Alongside domestic affairs, Suarez will also be looking to go out in style with Uruguay at the 2024 Copa America this summer.
