Darwin Núñez's 'crazy' goal enthralls the Liverpool legend, but he warns the Uruguayan about the 'madness'
Liverpool legend Michael Owen loved Darwin Nunez's goal against Brentford.
The former England striker candidly revealed his pure delight at the Uruguayan's cheeky chip on Mark Flekken in a post on X.
Núñez's goal unleashed a 4-1 victory for Jurgen Klopp's to cement their place at the top of the Premier League.
The win was even more impressive for the fact that they lost Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones to an injury in the first half.
Owen, meanwhile, can't seem to contain his joy at Núñez's goal. So much so that he is still seeing it. And again.
But, despite enjoying it so much, the first real Madrid The star couldn't help but offer his wise advice to Núñez.
He posted: “That shot by Darwin Núñez yesterday was crazy. I can't stop watching it. And I can't begin to explain how difficult a skill it is. Moving at a good pace, the ball running away from you, being on the field.” Box without margin of error. Incredible.
“BUT, it's also further proof that if you want to get closer to becoming the great player that many people think you can be, you have to adapt your thinking.
“I mean, even considering that shot is crazy. It's a 1 in 10 shot, 2 in 10 at best. Learning to slot, dink or go around the goalie is a much more productive way to score and will increase your chances to 4 or 5 out of 10, thus greatly increasing your final performance.”
Owen, however, admitted it was something he would prefer the chaotic striker do at other points in the game.
He continued: “I'm not really trying to ruin his parade since that goal was pure class. But I prefer to watch it when Liverpool “We're up 3-0, not 0-0.”
Take note, Darwin.
