Man United's terrifying statistics when Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund play as rivals sent a worrying message
Manchester United may have barely beaten a “tough” Luton team this weekend, but three of their stars have been key to improving their form.
Rasmus Hojlund's two goals helped the Red Devils secure their fourth successive Premier League win, and Carlton Morris' first-half goal was not enough for the hosts to take anything from the game despite a dominant display.
But it is not just Hojlund's firepower in their 2-1 victory that has been vital in reaching sixth place. united man recently.
Hojlund, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho formed Erik ten Hag's first line at Kenilworth Road on Sunday, with the latter also getting an assist for Hojlund's second of the afternoon.
But as well as helping to create goals, the statistics show that the trio also make a big difference for Man United to score points.
The Red Devils have had 18 league games without at least one of Hojlund, Rashford and Garnacho this season.
In that time they suffered nine losses, scored a goal per game, earned 1.4 points per game and achieved a 44 percent win rate.
By comparison, in the seven league games the trio have played together, Man United have not lost a single game, scoring 2.4 goals per game, earning 2.7 points per game and have a much-improved win rate of 86 percent.
After his assist on Sunday, Garnacho now has three this season, in addition to five goals, in the League. Meanwhile, Rashford also scored five goals and three assists.
Hojlund, for his part, now has seven goals in the league, scoring in six games in a row. He also got two assists.
As expected, the 21-year-old was all smiles when the final whistle blew on Sunday and even sent his club's fans a message on Instagram that will have the other teams in the top six looking over their shoulders.
Speaking to the camera from the Kenilworth Road pitch, the Dane said: “Hello everyone, Rasmus here. Tough, tough away crowd, tough stadium. But in the end we get there and the most important thing is the three points.
“I'm very happy to have scored two goals and we'll keep pushing next week against Fulham. Let's go!”
Man United are just three points off fifth place Tottenhamalthough the Spurs have a much superior goal difference.
The Red Devils now have a week to prepare to host Fulham at Old Trafford next Saturday.
