Jamie Carragher was in the worst place to discover that Luton had taken the lead against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Reds legend was sandwiched between an Arsenal hero and a former Manchester City star respectively in Thierry Henry and Micah Richards.

Working for CBS on its Champions League coverage, news quickly reached the trio of a surprising goal in the Premier League title race.

Luton star Chiedoze Ogbene converted a rebound at the far post to put the relegation-threatened Hatters ahead at the home of the league leaders.

Richards shouted: “I've got breaking news in the title race. Liverpool, zero. Luton, one.”

Carragher took a moment to process the news and left the CBS team in stitches with his response.

“It is?” said the former defender in a tone of pure dejection.

Henry and Richards laughed at their colleague, who shook his head in disbelief.

“I feel bad,” Carragher added.

Liverpool started the night one point clear of Manchester City and two points ahead of Arsenal.
