Aston Villa will face Ajax in the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16.
Unai Emery’s side have been paired with the Dutch club, who finished third in Eredivisie last season and are currently fifth in their domestic league.
Villa made it into the last 16 of the competition having finished top of Group E, while Ajax transferred from the UEFA Europa League, before seeing off Bodø/Glimt 4-3 on aggregate in their knockout round play-off.
The eagerly-anticipated encounter sees two European Cup winners face each other, with their only previous meeting coming in 2008 as the Villans triumphed 2-1 in the UEFA Cup group stage.
Friday afternoon’s draw in Nyon, Switzerland featured the eight seeded group stage winners, including Villa, and the eight knockout round play-off winners.
The first leg is scheduled to take place in Amsterdam on Thursday, March 7 and the second leg a week later at Villa Park on Thursday, March 14.
Further details, including full ticketing information, will be confirmed in due course.
