Arsenal supposedly “appreciate” Everton star Amadou Onana and could look to acquire his service this summer, according to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
After moving to Goodison Park ahead of last season, the 22-year-old enjoyed a promising debut campaign at the first division last season, helping his team survive relegation.
The Belgian has continued his eye-catching performances this season so, after being impressed by the midfielder's recent performances, the Gunners have expressed interest in signing him to strengthen their engine room.
speaking to Caught offside, Roman has reported that Arsenal 'appreciate' Onana and that he has a 'good chance' of leaving Everton this summer, so Mikel ArtetaThe Barcelona team could sign him during the preseason.

However, the journalist states that Arsenal are also interested in signing Martín Zubimendi and that it remains to be seen who Arsenal will finally choose to buy to reinforce their midfield.
Romano said:
“There will surely be many clubs interested in signing Amadou Onana this summer. Arsenal appreciate him and are well informed but I already mentioned Martín Zubimendi as well, they have to decide what type of player they want to sign and it won't be decided in February, it will take some time. In any case, Onana is generating interest and I think he has a good chance of moving in the summer.”
Onana still has over three years left on his current contract so Everton are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash in on him this summer and it has been suggested that the Toffees could ask the less 50 million pounds.
However, following a 10-point deduction after being found guilty of breaching FFP rules, Everton are currently in danger of relegation. They could therefore be forced to sell Onana at a reduced price this summer if they fail to secure top-flight status for next season.
Onana is a talented player and could be a smart signing for Arsenal to strengthen their midfield. However, it will be interesting to see if the north London club ultimately opt to acquire his service ahead of next season.
