Getafe president gives clues about Mason Greenwood's next club after Manchester United change their position
Getafe president Angel Torres believes Barcelona would be an ideal option for Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood.
The 22-year-old forward is currently at LaLiga side Getafe after United decided must resume his playing career away from Old Trafford after an internal investigation.
Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behavior in January 2022 before all charges were dropped in February 2023.
New minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is now in charge of football operations, recently suggested the Red Devils could change your posture on Greenwood when his loan at Getafe ends.
After spending more than 20 months out of action, the United academy product has five goals and five assists in 21 games this season, and his contract with the Red Devils runs until June 2025.
He has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Barcelona, and Getafe boss Torres believes the Camp Nou would be a suitable destination for Greenwood.
“He is very comfortable and crazy about staying another year,” Torres told the Spanish radio station FRONT FACING.
“It's a matter they (United) have to decide. There are new owners. They have to decide.
“In Spain they have a market. Barça's way of playing would be good for them, but it depends on Manchester United. If it's true, they'll tell me.”
Ratcliffe left the door open for Greenwood to play for United again after the British billionaire completed the purchase of a 27.7 percent stake in the club.

“We will make a decision and justify it,” said the head of INEOS via The Athletic.
“Obviously he is on loan, but he is not the only one. We have one or two players we have to deal with and we have to make a decision, so we will do it.
“The process will be: understand the facts, not the exaggerations, and then try to come to a fair decision based on values, which is basically whether he is a good guy or not, and answer: could he sincerely play well for Manchester United? and would we be okay? I'm comfortable with that and would the fans be comfortable with that?
