Luiz happiness after Forest win

Douglas Luiz expressed his delight at securing a big three points against Nottingham Forest and bagging a brace in the process.

The Brazil international midfielder took his tally for the season to 10 goals in Villa’s 4-2 triumph over The Reds.

Luiz swept home his first in the 29^th minute before heading in his second of the afternoon 10 minutes later.

Victory ensured the Villans got back to winning ways on home soil as they followed up last weekend’s triumph over Fulham at Craven Cottage with another success.

“I scored two goals, I’m really happy,” Luiz told VillaTV.

“I was feeling this before the game, I said to my girlfriend ‘today, I score, 100 per cent’.

“And I come to the pitch and score twice.

“I’m really happy for the performance of the team.”

The Villans have now lost just two of their previous 18 meetings with Forest stretching back to 1995.

Ollie Watkins set the home side on their way with his 19^th goal of the season and, after Luiz’s double, it was left for Leon Bailey’s close-range finish to make sure of the points for fourth-placed Villa.

“We’re really happy,” Luiz added. “It’s a big result for us, it’s great.

“The team could control the game after scoring the four goals.

“And you need to keep going.

“It’s a good result for us, Manchester United lost, it’s good for us too.

“We need to keep going.”
