talkSPORT presenters Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist have been left shocked by a Chelsea fan's demands for a new manager.
Chelsea suffered a humiliating defeat against Liverpool in it Carabao Cup as Virgil van DijkWith a header in the 117th minute, the team beat them once again in a grand final.
The Blues had several chances to win the game, but were unable to get past Caoimhin Kelleher in the Reds' goal. Jurgen Klopp He fielded inexperienced youngsters, including James McConnell and Bobby Clark (both 19 years old) and Jayden Danns, who is 18 years old.
Mauricio Pochettino He was left with his head in his hands by being beaten once again by Klopp in a final, just as he was in the 2019 Champions League final when he was in charge of Tottenham.
And it has left some fans desperate to see the Argentine coach go, with one supporter even proposing a replacement who could turn heads.
Speaking to Stelling and McCoist on talkSPORT Breakfast, Harry suggested that Sam Allardyce should be the next man in the Chelsea dugout.
Stelling greeted the Chelsea fan by saying: “Good morning Harry, rope merchant! Who do you want to be the next Chelsea manager?”
Without delay, Harry replied: “Sam Allardyce.”
Stelling and McCoist were shocked for a moment before laughing and McCoist asked Harry why.
Harry continued: “Well, I think Pochettino is completely out of his depth. I don't think he has a clue to be honest with you.
“I think Sam Allardyce has experience. I think he is ruthless and would do better with the current Chelsea team than Pochettino.”
Stelling was still dumbfounded and replied, “You're fooling us, aren't you? With all due respect to Sam.”
“No!” Harry insisted.
“Correct,” Stelling said. “How do you think that suggestion would be received by other Chelsea fans?”
Harry said: “I suppose if you listen to me now you'll be a little surprised, but Allardyce is 100 per cent a better man for the job than Pochettino.”
Chelsea's defeat against Liverpool sparked a lot of criticism of Pochettino's team, including from Gary Neville who marked them 'billion pound blue bottle jobs'.
It is the sixth consecutive final that the Blues have lost, a feat no other English club has achieved before.
And it is also the fourth final in recent history that they have lost to Liverpool which includes the 2022 Carabao Cup final, the 2022 FA Cup final and the 2019 European Super Cup final.
While Pochettino might now be under pressure, not even Todd Boehly would think of bringing in Big Sam… surely not.
