PSG make contact with Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel

As reported by Sky Germany, Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel over a possible move to the club.

It is understood that the French champions are growing frustrated with current Italian shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who joined the club in 2021 from AC Milan.

Due to his consistent performances for Dortmund, Kobel has become one of BvB’s most valuable assets, and his absence from the side in recent weeks through injury has only highlighted his importance to the side. Consequently, his development at Dortmund since signing from Stuttgart in 2021 has caught the attention of a multitude of top European clubs.

PSG have, therefore, identified Kobel as a suitable successor to Donnarumma, with loose contact having already been made. Regardless, the Parisians may face competition from numerous Premier League clubs, with Chelsea and Manchester United having previously shown interest in the Swiss international.

As well as this, Kobel’s contract at the Westfalenstadion does not expire until 2028, and a move away from Dortmund is not a priority for the 26-year-old. Nevertheless, should Die Schwarzgelben fail to make the top four in the Bundesliga this season, then a move to the French capital could persuade Kobel.
