Eric Ramsay left Manchester United to become coach of MLS side Minnesota United.
The 32-year-old player has been a key player Erik ten HagHe's the backroom team, but he makes history by becoming the youngest head coach in MLS history.
Ramsay will stay with the Red Devils until after their crucial clash with city of manchester this weekend before moving to the United States.
Talking with him united minnesota website, Ramsay said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining a club with such a strong football culture, enthusiastic fan base and brilliant infrastructure.
“I have spoken to many staff at the club and you can’t help but feel everyone’s passion for taking the club forward.”
A Man United statement said: “manchester united It can confirm that first-team coach Eric Ramsay will leave the club to join Major League Soccer side Minnesota United as head coach.
“Eric, who will remain in his current role until after our game against Manchester City on Sunday, has been part of our first-team coaching group since arriving from Chelsea in 2021.
“His responsibilities will be shared with the rest of the technical team for the remainder of the season.
“We would like to thank Eric for his contribution and wish him the best of luck in the United States in his first position as head coach.”
Ramsay joined Manchester United in 2020 under the leadership of Ole Gunnar Solskjaerat the same time he worked as an assistant coach for the Wales team.
Ramsay replaces interim boss Cameron Knowles at Minnesota, who had been without a permanent manager since parting ways with Adrian Heath in October.
The club won its first match of the MLS season 2-1 against Austin FC on Sunday, and its next match will be against the Columbus Crew on Saturday.
Ramsay's first game in charge, however, will be the trip to Orlando City on March 10.
