Simon Jordan responds to Man United for Bruno Fernandes' complaints and questions the severity of the injury
Simon Jordan has responded to Manchester United after they complained about Fulham's Bruno Fernandes video.
United were furious. with Fulham after they posted a viral video on social media site TikTok suggesting that Fernandes had pretended to be injured against them recently.
It showed the Red Devils captain going down following a challenge from Sasa Lukic.
However, when the ball reached the Portuguese international, he jumped to his feet to participate in the development of the game.
Fulham posted the clip with comedy music and a caption that read: “So glad he's okay.”
And it has bothered United, in addition to Erik ten Hagwho demanded Fulham apologize, while Fernandes' “high threshold” for pain meant he played injured in the FA Cup win against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
But talkSPORT's Jordan hit back at the Old Trafford team, telling Fernandes he had made his own bed.
Alongside Jim White, Jordan told talkSPORT: “Do you have a high pain threshold? I wish you had a high nonsense threshold. If you had a serious injury you wouldn't play, right?”
“He had a blow. It's not just Fernandes. There are many players. This argument that ravages players who are characterized in a certain way… is of his own creation.
“These accusations of cheating, spinning, hitting and wasting time are by-products of modern football.
“When you earn that nickname, that's what you get. No matter how talented Fernandes is, Man United fans at the moment don't accept it.
“They don't think he's a leader, they think histrionics are unacceptable. He's not the only one who does it, but he's the captain of Man United and they concentrate more.
“You can't take it with any other brush. If you roll around and do a four-act play of something, then get up and engage in an attack, then you weren't hurt enough in the first place.”
United's main complaint with Fulham is that their actions will lead to more abuse from the stands and online directed at Fernandes.
The 29-year-old usually bears the brunt of fan abuse, while Ten Hag even said that rival players are now targeting him.
Jordan admitted Fulham might have been a little naughty by posting about Fernandes on TikTok.
He continued: “I don't think it's a classy way for Fulham to behave and there will come a time when one of their players will do the same.
“People who live in glass houses probably shouldn't throw stones.”
Ten Hag had said of Fulham's TikTok post: “I'm not saying what it is, but it was a serious injury. I see social media criticizing it. It's pathetic.”
“He has a serious injury, he continued playing on Saturday and then also fought to be part of this game.
“He has a very high pain threshold. Last year he did something similar against the Spurs and I think in the semi-final.
“It shows his leadership. You saw that Forest was targeting him.
“There were a lot of fouls on him. You see that when he receives the ball, they are very tight with him.”
