Atletico Madrid are not selling tickets at the Athletic Club after a violent attack on fans

Atletico Madrid have decided they feel “obliged” not to sell tickets to Athletic Club fans for their next La Liga clash at the end of April. This comes after Atletico fans were hospitalized ahead of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash on Thursday, with Athletic running out 4-0 winners on aggregate.

A group of Atlético fans were attacked by Atlético hooligans in a bar near San Mames, with the fellow hospitalized fan in question claiming “they were out to kill, it was a rat trap” . She also said Chain SER that when the police were called, they said they did not have the resources to attend to the incident.

According to the Statement from Atlético, had complained before the match that they needed to take sufficient measures to protect their traveling fans.
