Arsenal star Ben White uses wife analogy to explain ruthless winning mentality

Ben White has admitted that he is so determined to win at everything he does, he even tries to wipe the floor with his wife in Uno.

He Arsenal The centre-back has become known for his attitude towards football, admitting that He doesn't watch games in his free time.but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a ruthless winning mentality.

But, while other players can forensically study their opponents or even their own performances to help gain an advantage in their next outing, White He says he often has another type of “hand” in mind.

The defender says he likes to relax at home meditating, reading books and apparently enjoying the odd game of Uno with his wife Milly Adams.

Don't let this fool you, though, because behind the pretty football boy with the often bleached hair, tanned skin, tattoos, and earrings, there's a fierce competitor, and it seems like he's just as fierce a competitor off the field as he is on it. He tries everything in the book to claim victory.

“It's been going on since I was young,” White said in an interview with The Guardian.

“I remember being young and always wanting to play aggressively and do everything I could to win.

“I want to win everything I do. My wife and I play a lot of games at home. We play bat and ball, Uno, this magnetic game. “I won't let her win.”

And what happens if Milly starts winning? “The ball is lost. . .

“I know people say I don't like football, but I come home and I don't think about football.

“I can be a normal person, relax. That's one of the best things I can do. When I'm here (at the club) it's intense.”

This follows his coach Arteta's comments during the club's All or Nothing documentary on Amazon, where the Spaniard said White trains every day as if he were playing in a Champions League final.

And it seems that in Arteta, White has found his perfect match in a manager, with the 26-year-old crediting the former Arsenal captain for his success at the club since his £50million transfer from Brighton.

That agreement raised more than one surprise at the time. This was a player who had only spent one season in the Premier League with Brighton, having played a decisive role in Leeds' promotion to the Premier League on loan with the Whites the previous season.

He was so successful that Leeds were desperate to retain him, with an offer of around £25 million. Brighton said no, they kept him for a year where he once again showed his class at the back and sold him for twice as much to one of the best teams in the country.

That figure made him Arsenal's record signing at the time, and although many doubted him at first, White has since won over his doubters, especially with his transition from centre-back to full-back.

And that is something that, according to him, is entirely down to Arteta and his training.

“It wasn't really a conversation, there was just a lot of instructions about where I should be and when I should be there,” the humble star explained.

“When you have Mikel as a coach it is quite easy because he makes it easy for you. I think most players could play in that position, because the key if you want to play for Arsenal is to have technical talent, to be strong and fast. Most players could do it.

“It's very different, two different coaches,” he said, comparing Arteta to his former Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa.

“They ask you a lot more for Mikel. I feel comfortable playing there, but there are completely different things to see. As in my case, playing as a center back and right back, I only have to look forward, I never worry about what is behind me. “This is a completely different part of the game.”

With just 12 games left in the Premier League season, White knows every game is valuable as Arsenal look to close the gap. Liverpool and city of man.

They have a tough run of games ahead of them against City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Aston Villa and manchester unitedand the defender insists that they cannot afford to make a single mistake.

He added: “Maybe taking care of the little things when there is so much talk about everything. Controlling what we do, the little things, personally that is very important to me, because the little things add up and add up. It's so tight that any small mistake will be punished.

“There's nothing to lose. We're just going to go out there, do our best and try to perform like we have in the last few games. I think the players we've added will also step up in those big games and provide what we need.” “We need it in those games.
