Speaking to Sky Germany, VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth spoke on the future of star striker Sehoru Guirassy.
When asked about Guirassy’s future, Wohlgemuth said: “In the last two transfer periods it was the case that the departure was always almost all overturned by everyone around it. He stayed both times, and maybe we will find these connection points or these means to convince him to stay.” The director then added: “Because our table place is also totally open. It is (The league table) a piece of the puzzle for players deciding for or against us.We are always in exchange. He feels comfortable.
At the weekend, Guirassy once again showed why he is so sought after as he scored a brace in Stuttgat’s 3-2 win against Wolfsburg.
The brace takes his tally to 20 goals this season, seven off of leader Harry Kane which is very impressive considering Guirassy has not only been injured for an extended period but was also at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier in the year.
The 27-year-old is continually being linked to bigger teams whether that be Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Milan. This is due to his contract, which expires in 2026, having a release clause that is said to be worth €20m which is valid in the summer.
However, with Stuttgart potentially playing in the Champions League next season, would Guirassy see the appeal of staying at the MHP Arena for one more year?
