Feyenoord Rotterdam head coach Arne Slot is being considered as a potential replacement for Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich this summer, according to Abendzeitung.
Current Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is, of course, still the favourite for Bayern. The Spaniard looks set to bring Leverkusen their first-ever Bundesliga title this season and end Bayern’s dominance in the German game.
However, with Liverpool also trying to sign Alonso, Bayern understands how difficult it would be to bring him in.
A somewhat left-field choice, Arne Slot would be an unknown coming into one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The 45-year-old was named Coach of the Year in the Netherlands in 2022 and 2023. He is known for his high-pressing play, quick transition, and all-around attractive football.
Currently 2nd in Eredivisie, Slot’s Feyenoord are trying to close down a 10-point gap between them and league-leaders PSV.
Slot previously won the Eredivisie in 2023 and reached the final of the Conference League in 2022, losing 1-0 to AS Roma.
