Morgan Rogers was handed his full debut for Aston Villa’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Ajax.
The midfielder, who arrived at the club in January, was named in Villa’s line-up as Unai Emery made five changes to the side who started last weekend’s Premier League victory at Luton Town.
Fellow midfielder Tim Iroegbunam made his second Villa start for the round of 16 first leg in Amsterdam, while Pau Torres also returned to the XI alongside Lucas Digne and Moussa Diaby.
Skipper John McGinn, Matty Cash, Álex Moreno and Leon Bailey were named among the substitutes, with Jacob Ramsey missing out due to injury.
Diego Carlos and teenager Omari Kellyman were also included in the matchday 21 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, as Emi Martínez wore the captain’s armband.
