Tottenham Hotspur could finally manage to sign Conor Gallagher this summer as Chelsea They are ready to take advantage of the midfielder, according to the transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the Englishman in recent transfer windows, however, they have not yet decided to make a concrete approach as the midfielder was reportedly unwilling to leave his boyhood club.

But the midfielder will enter the final 12 months of his current contract this summer and Exterior wall has reported about HITC that Chelsea have not yet decided to offer the 23-year-old a new contract.

The journalist further states that although the midfielder wants to stay and Mauricio Pochettino does not want to lose his star, Chelsea have decided to take advantage of Gallagher during the off-season. Therefore, this is a big boost for Spurs as they could finally manage to acquire the service of their long-term target ahead of next season.

Chelsea allegedly slapped a price tag of £60 million over Gallagher's head in January and could demand a similar fee this summer as well. But Spurs may try to sign the midfielder for a lower contract, considering the player will become a free agent next year.

Gallagher to Tottenham

Tottenham are reportedly in a strong financial position to spend money this summer and the north London club are likely to look to sign some new faces to continue the rebuild under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs are apparently planning to bolster their front line by signing a new striker, but buying a new midfielder is also on Postecoglou's list.

Gallagher is a versatile player as he can play multiple positions in the middle of the park. He is dynamic, strong, technically sound, can make passes between the lines, is efficient in defensive contributions and also works extremely hard out of possession.

The Chelsea star is a first division Proven midfielder and has high potential. Therefore, it would be a big coup for the Spurs if they were to buy him. However, it will be interesting to see whether the north London club will be able to secure him if the midfielder eventually leaves Chelsea at the end of this season.
