Paris Saint-Germain are not interested in a move for Marcus Rashford this summer, talkSPORT understands.

The French champions have been linked with the manchester united forward from 2022, but speculation has intensified since Kylian Mbappé announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

Seen as a potential replacement for the World Cup winner, PSG were reported to be preparing a £75million bid for the 26-year-old who last year signed a new contract at Old Trafford.

However, PSG has since distanced itself from the rumours, supported by United coach Erik ten Hag, who also poured cold water on his departure from the club.

The Dutchman expressed his intention to keep Rashford at Old Trafford long-term during his press conference ahead of Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool.

“We didn't re-sign him last season for four years (new contract) with the intention of selling him. No,” Ten Hag said.

“He should be part of this project. It's not something we talk about.”

Rashford has been unable to replicate last season's excellent form, which saw the striker register an impressive 30 goals as United achieved success in the Carabao Cup and finished in the top four in the league.

A barren spell in front of goal has seen Rashford score just seven times in 34 games in all competitions this season, but Ten Hag will be excited by the striker's two goals in his last two outings.

United host Liverpool with a place in the FA semi-final on the line and Rashford's pace and precision give the Red Devils their best hope of getting behind the Liverpool defence.

“We are very good when there is space behind the defensive line,” Ten Hag told reporters. “That will also be our intention for Sunday, we will be brave and move forward where possible.

“We know that when there is space behind their defensive line we can exploit it, but we have to get to that point, overcome them, get the balls there and that requires a good strategy in key moments.”
