Harry Kane’s impressive start to his Bayern Munich career continues. The England captain’s 31st goal for Bayern on Saturday means that no player in Bundesliga history has scored more during their first campaign in the league.
For Kane, personally, it’s the most he’s ever scored in a single campaign.
The goal gave Bayern Munich the lead, having trailed SV Darmstadt 1-0 in the opening half. The goal was a classic poacher’s finish with the head as he got in front of his man to steer it home.
In the 2020–2021 season, Robert Lewandowski set what many believed would be an almost unbreakable record by scoring 41 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign. Nevertheless, with nine games left, Kane requires just eleven more strikes to equal the record and twelve to make it his own.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has proven to be a phenomenal signing for the record champions, and while he may not lift a piece of silverware this season, he could break yet another record. During this campaign, it has felt as though the England captain has broken every single record possible, but this one could be the icing on the cake.
