Borussia Mönchengladbach wish to keep Maximilian Wöber but move currently unrealistic

Sky Germany reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach wishes to keep defender Maximilian Wöber but a move is currently unrealistic.

Wöber is currently on loan at Gladbach from Leeds United and fees comfortable at the club. Gladbach are also satisfied with his development during his eight-month spell. However, it is proving difficult to negotiate with Leeds over a fee for a permanent move. Leeds are currently demanding €10-12m, it is likely that this fee is too much for Gladbach to spend without necessary departures.

Any potential arrival would likely have to see a departure of a player with Manu Koné, Florian Neuhaus, Nico Elvedi and Joe Scally all reported as potential players that could depart in the summer.

Gladbach are looking to rebuild their squad in the summer and are already close to completing their first deal of the summer with Holstein Kiel’s Philipp Sander very likely joining the club. The club have also been linked with Ao Tanaka (Fortuna Düsseldorf) and Daichi Kamada (Lazio)
