Taylor has been in charge of the women's team since 2020, but signed a new three-year contract in March.

It means Taylor and Guardiola have the chance to create another piece of history for Manchester City this season if both the men's and women's teams achieve victory in the league.

“Chelsea have always had to win in the last game on those occasions. I don't see that being different this season.

“Obviously we have created a small gap between Arsenal Now we are both on six points, but the picture can change very quickly in the WSL.

“We just have to keep going game by game trying to score as many points as we can and hopefully it will be enough.”
