And it was the latter who was happiest at the full-time whistle as Brazil claimed a 1-0 win.
Earlier on Saturday, Youri Tielemans captained Belgium in their friendly against Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
The midfielder was substituted at half-time during the 0-0 draw.
Moussa Diaby was an unused substitute for France as they lost out 2-0 to Germany.
